The choice of agricultural machines that help in maintaining green areas is growing. Currently, we can choose how we want to mow meadows, wastelands, green areas, and what we want to do with the mowed grass. Flail mowers have become an interesting option for many of our customers. Some people call them colloquially mowers for "special tasks". They mow tall grass or heavily overgrown areas. As the name suggests, flail mowers are mowers in which flails placed on the cutting shaft are responsible for the mowing function. The cutting shaft, while rotating at a fixed speed, around its axis shears what is above the selected cutting height.

An important element of the construction is the possibility of opening the tailgate when mowing very overgrown areas. The mown material will then be less shredded, but the tractor will not be subjected to as much load as when working with the flap closed.

The flail mower not only mows but also mulches the mowed material. What is it?

This is a technique of mowing grass/other organic materials and pulverizing the cut material so that it is a natural fertilizer that fertilizes the soil. The advantage of mulching is also preventing soil erosion, slowing down the growth of weeds and, importantly, depriving us of unwanted mowed grass, which is often an additional problem.

You can mulch grass, crop residues, thanks to which the amount of post-harvest residues is limited. In addition, we provide the soil with a natural fertilizer and protect it against pests inhabiting e.g. in the stems of the above-ground parts of plants.

The flail mower (mulcher) EFG 145 4FARMERhas a cutting width of 145 cm. In addition to a solid working shaft equipped with horizontally arranged shredding flails, the mower also has a rear (following) shaft. It gives you the ability to adjust the mowing height and keep the mower at the selected height. The drive from the tractor's PTO shaft is 540 rpm.

When choosing a flail mower it is very important to choose the right mower for the power and weight of our tractor. The EFG 145 flail mower requires a minimum of 30 HP with a large tractor weight.
