GEOGRASS flail mowers - what distinguishes them?

flail mower, so-called A mulcher is a variant of a rotary mower, and its cutting elements are flails that shred plants. The mower was so named due to the use of heavier cutting elements (the so-called flails) and because the mowing method and operation of the mower itself resembles grinding, mulching grass.

The distinguishing feature of flail mowers is that they mulch the cut vegetation. It is fragmented and left on the ground, thanks to which it can fertilize it. In many cases, this is a very desirable action, because the tiny clippings will quickly decompose and support the growth of the remaining plants.

The advantage of the GEOGRASS flail mower is the ability to open the rear hatch when mowing very overgrown areas. The mown material will be less shredded, but at the same time the tractor will not be subjected to as much load as when working with the flap closed.

What is a flail mower used for?

A flail mower is a machine designed for mulching plant residues, e.g. in field work, orchard work or viticulture. The mulcher is used for mowing: all kinds of wasteland, roadsides, slopes and ditches, urban green areas or green areas in parks. It will be used in the care of: pastures, meadows and recreational areas. It is also used to clean agricultural, communal and infrastructural surfaces. It is also a machine for maintaining order in orchards, nurseries and all kinds of farms.

GEOGRASS flail mowers - which one to choose?

GEOGRASS flail mowers are available in many variants with different parameters, which, properly matched to the power and size of the tractor, will give the best mowing results with optimal use of the tractor's properties. They are equipped with hammers or Y-type knives of different weight and different cutting structure, which affects the quality and condition of the mowed areas, as well as the power demand of the mower.

The light class GEOGRASS EFN/EFM flail mower and the medium class GEOGRASS EFG flail mower with a reinforced structure are perfect mowers for smaller tractors with a power of up to 30 HP, whose own weight forces lighter construction of the equipment.

On the other hand, the GEOGRASS EFGC flail mower and the GEOGRASS EFGCH flail mower with hydraulic shift, due to their greater own weight than other mowers of similar size and the use of appropriately sized cutting hammers, the so-called flail mower - it is classified as a heavy flail mower. Designed for tractors and mini tractors with a recommended minimum power of 20KM to 80KM. In addition to all models of the EFGC Geograss flail mower (except EFGC 105), the manufacturer has provided the possibility of mounting a hydraulic shift.

The flail mower with hydraulic shift GEOGRASS EFGCH is always chosen when the terrain conditions require the mower to be extended beyond the outline of the tractor, more than in the case of the basic version of the mower without shift.

The flail mower on the GEOGRASS AGL boom has the option of extending and tilting the mowing module. Thanks to this, it will also work very well in mowing the sides of slopes and ditches. With such a mower, you can comprehensively tidy wastelands, access roads and safely (low weight) mow pond slopes.

The GEOGRASS AGF boom flail mower belongs to the super heavy class. Due to the massive construction and the heaviest hammers, it is very well suited for professional municipal work. The hydraulically adjustable extension and inclination of the working module will be perfect for mowing roadsides, ditches and slopes.

The flail mower GEOGRASS ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) is a mower with its own combustion engine attached to various vehicles. In ATV flail mowers, the cutting unit is a special ATV hammer placed on the cutting shaft. It is definitely a device for mowing grass, which, thanks to the fact that it has its own engine, does not need power transmitted, for example, from a tractor or other machine (PTO shaft). Despite the fact that the machine has an engine, it does not have its own traction drive, so it must be towed by another machine, e.g. a towbar or a ball hitch of a car trailer. The mower's internal combustion engine drives only the cutting shaft or cutting knives - that is, it is responsible only for mowing the grass.
