Hammer hammers or flail knives?

The mowing element of each flail mower is a cutting assembly consisting of a shaft of the knife axis to which cutting knives are bolted, colloquially known as flails or hammers. There are many types of flail knives, but there are two main groups of knives for flail mowers:

• hammer flails for mowing wasteland,
• hammer knives for mowing grass,

The first group is a group of heavy flails intended for mowing wasteland, crop residues or for cleaning roadsides, and intended for flail mowers classified as large, heavy mowers. The big group is a group of lighter construction knives with a slightly different construction and are designed for mowing grass or green vegetation and are designed for lighter construction mowers.

For which mowers can we use Y-type hammer knives?

Y-type knives are nominal knives dedicated to light and medium-sized flail mowers of the following types:

• EF 4FARMER flail mower all sizes,
• EFG 4FARMER flail mower all sizes

but we also use this type of knives interchangeably in flail mowers such as:

• VF/EF SANKO flail mower all sizes,
• EFN Geograss flail mower all sizes
• EFN TRX flail mower all sizes,
• EFG GEOGRASS flail mower all sizes,
• EFG TRX flail mower all sizes, and others,

To properly install the replaceable Y knives, we also need:

• screw M12 x 80,
• self-locking nut M12 x 2.00,
• 2 x M12 spacer sleeves.

Y-type flail knives are knives used for mowing green grass and small wastelands with moderate or small plant thickness and are intended for light and medium-sized mowers.
