MBER 120 Geograss shredder mower

MBER 120 Geograss - what does it look like and what is a tractor shredder mower?

A grass shredder mower is a tractor mower, because its operation relies on the engine power of the tractor (or another machine), and it must be mounted on the 3-point rear or front lift of the tractor, in short called the TUZ. Power from the tractor is transmitted to the mower gearbox by a PTO power transmission shaft, and from the gearbox, without a clutch, to the hub on which the cutting blades are mounted. Such a design requires additional protection against damage to the gearbox or blades. When the mower hits an obstacle or becomes clogged with cut material, the lack of a clutch in the gearbox can damage the gearbox, the shaft or the blades, which is why the manufacturer recommends using PTO shafts (power transmission shafts) with a clutch or with a so-called breakaway wedge.

How does the MBER Geograss shredder mower differ from other shredder mowers?

A shredder-type mower is fitted with two cutting blades, and it is the difference in the blades used that sets the various models of shredder mowers from different manufacturers apart. The way the blades rotate is the same regardless of the blades used - in every case they turn in the same way, similar to the rotor of a helicopter. The difference between mowers lies in the size of the cutting blade itself and the size of the rotating bar to which the blades are bolted.

What is the MBER Geograss shredder used for?
  • mowing large areas of tall grass in meadows, parks and recreational areas,
  • mowing grass in orchards and plantations,
  • mowing agricultural wasteland,
  • mowing brush,
  • mowing catch crops.

MBER Geograss is a shredder mower that can mow not only green grass but also wasteland with plants of moderate thickness. The mower will also cut small, young self-seeded trees and shrubs and crop residues. The agricultural shredder is fitted with heavy blades (2 x 3 kg) which, combined with a strong gearbox, give very good mowing capability, even for tougher materials such as low shrubs and crop residues, e.g. corn. A durable construction, solid housing, high-quality bearings and a strong gearbox allow the mower to be used for many hours, even in difficult terrain and for many hours a day.

Key data and dimensions of the MBER 120 GEOGRASS:

  • overall width (mm): 1300,
  • working width (mm): 1200,
  • overall length (mm): 1300,
  • height (mm): 700,
  • minimum required tractor power (HP): 25,
  • PTO speed (rpm): 540,
  • number of blades (pcs): 2,
  • weight (kg): 150.

The frame design of the MBER120 Geograss mower allows the mower tower to be shifted horizontally relative to the tractor axis, which moves the mower beyond the outline of the tractor (right / left side shift of about 100 mm).
