A flail mower is a type of rotary mower in which the cutting elements are flails that shred the mown plants. This mowing system was used in a flail forage cutter (often commonly called Orkan or rotor). The system, in which the flails are a sharpened mass rotating on the cutting shaft, is effective in mowing wasteland and roadsides. The machine speed is often higher than 3000 rpm. The drive systems can be mechanical using the PTO shaft or hydraulic using a hydraulic motor.

The flail mower not only mows the grass, but also mulches it. What is it about?

It is a technique of mowing grass/other organic materials and grinding the cut material so that it becomes a natural fertilizer that fertilizes the soil. The advantage of mulching is also preventing soil erosion, slowing down the growth of weeds and, most importantly, depriving us of unwanted mowings, e.g. grass, which is often an additional problem.

We can mulch not only the grass, but also crop residues, thanks to which we reduce the amount of crop residues, provide the soil with natural fertilizer and protect against pests living, e.g. in the stems of the above-ground parts of plants.

Flail mower (mulcher)AGL 125 has a cutting width of 125 cm. The AGL model has hydraulic adjustment of both the inclination and extension of the machine. The mower's inclination range is 90° vertically and 65° horizontally. The drive from the tractor's PTO shaft is 540 rpm. It is also possible to adjust the copying shaft.

When choosing a flail mower, it is very important to select the appropriate mower for the power and weight of our tractor. AGL 125 flail mower (mulcher) requires a minimum of 20 HP with a large tractor weight.
